Seeing all the flags was rather unbelievable!
Eastern Europe isn’t a force on the world football stage like Western Europe, or South America, yet the followers are exceptionally enthusiastic.
I took pleasure in participating in club football matches across Eastern Europe in 2017. Not all were great ambience smart, yet there were some standouts. Memories that will linger for the remainder of my time on this earth.
The adhering to are four Eastern European football experiences I enjoyed. And also one video game I can’t not point out because of the two teams & players entailed. The most well-known professional athletes inspire regularly, which attracted me to this match.

Inside the concrete cauldron, we sat with the Partizan Ultras, known as the Grave Diggers. Their presence is frightening!
Little did I understand obtaining my phone for pictures wouldn’t always decrease well. And standing up on our seats for all 90 minutes? Do as the locals do I think.

Red Celebrity Belgrade vs. BATE in Belgrade (14/9/17)
The fans were squeezed in to applaud on Red Star Belgrade.
Red Star is the other club based in Belgrade. Red Celebrity vs. Partizan FC is routinely ranked as one of the leading rivalries worldwide. I was far too late for that however.
I had to do with two weeks late to see that played out however did reach see one Red Star Belgrade play a UEFA Europa Organization Group Suit.
I headed a final ticket and strolled into a definitely jam-packed arena. There was no chance I was reaching my alloted seat. The crowd energy was unbelievable, especially see thousands waving what appeared to be shiny cardboard at the same time. That made the video game worth seeing alone!
Final Result: 1 – 1 draw
Zeljeznicar vs Zrinjski Mostar in Sarajevo (30/9/17)
Sarajevo and Mostar are two of the most well-known cities in the country, so I wasn’t sure what to anticipate derby-wise. The good news is my blue hoody matched the home group’s colours after again noticing a big trouble authorities visibility. And the authorities dog that provided me an enormous fright!
Throughout the game, there were some flares lit, however the other point to note was the ~ 35 Mostar advocates in the far corner. They had been quiet all video game until they took the lead.
For the following 15-minutes, they were dancing up a tornado with some sort of strobe light giving the appearance they remained in a club. Remarkably, and perhaps sensibly, they left 10 mins before fulltime.
Final Result: 0 – 1 win to Zrinjski Mostar
Turkey vs. Albania in Antalya (13/11/17)
Sustaining Turkey for the evening.
At the time of writing, this was the most current football match I’ve participated in. There was little build up to the match with no advertisements around the city.
The game was a friendly, with little on the line. Both sides were out of World Mug qualifying opinion. I didn’t see any kind of Albanian flags at the stadium, yet there were at the very least 32,529 flags. Why such a particular number?
Each and every single seat was curtained with a flag. This was extraordinary, and have to have to fire up the gamers when they see a lot pride as the run out onto the pitch.

Bonus Offer: Barcelona FC Legends vs. Manchester United
Legends in Barcelona (30/6/17)

Before heading to Eastern Europe, I remained in Barcelona. This match was never about the top quality, with some of the football players clearly not keeping up their fitness levels. Having currently checked out the Camp Nou museum two times, reaching see a game at Camp Nou Stadium was magic.
It wasn’t a sellout, and the followers didn’t respect the result. They were grateful to see some of their favourite gamers of perpetuity shoelace up the boots and flaunt a couple of techniques. Me too! As a result of the match, Ronaldinho is now one of my much-loved sporting activities individualities.
Of course, deep down, a player’s shedding wish to win never ever vanishes.

What Can You Pick up from This?
If I was a genuinely enthusiastic fan of football, watching the matches might have been tiring. Some of the video games weren’t of the highest quality. That’
real. Yet I never would certainly have reached experience:
- standing on seats for 90-minutes
- waving flags with 20,000+ others
- Arenas with no alcohol sales
Therefore many more intricacies that comprise the culture of each country.
Experiencing society through sporting activities is something you must do more of. It’s really extraordinary.
